The paintings displayed in these galleries are a very small sampling of my art work and hand work. It didn’t occur to me to make photographic records of all my paintings, which I now regret. My old site, palette-needle.com was taken down when I retired from any commercial aspect of my work and I now paint only for my own pleasure. Actually, I have left much artwork out because the photographs were so poor that they do not reproduce well. I’ve made myself a promise that any future art work I do I will take decent photographs. The patterns for my needlework designs I still have but I no longer sell the kits. After my old site was retired I received many emails asking for the art work to be put back on the web so these galleries show some of it.
I have divided the work into three galleries. One is watercolour scenery, the other is stylized paintings, again in watercolour - actually, I only paint in watercolour although I have painted and sold works in acrylics and oil. The stylized paintings are all expressing emotions evoked by the different moods and aspects of Labrador when I spent time there. The third gallery is for handwork and covers a small number of my needlework designs that were sold as kits, and the knitting and leatherwork that the ladies of Labrador showed me how to do.
